Screening for Plagiarism Policy
Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring that every published article is an original scholarly work, free from plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a plagiarism screening process before entering the peer review stage. The editorial team uses plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or other similar tools, to assess the originality and similarity level of each manuscript.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources used in the manuscript, including quotations, data, ideas, interpretations, and references, are properly acknowledged and cited in accordance with accepted academic standards.
Plagiarism Screening Standards
- Manuscripts with a similarity index of up to 20% may proceed to the next stage of the review process.
- Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold may be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.
- Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism will be rejected.
- Manuscripts that include copied text without proper citation will not be considered for publication.
- Repeated plagiarism or serious violations of academic ethics may result in restrictions or a ban on future submissions to the journal.
Forms of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text from other sources without proper citation.
- Using another author's ideas, data, research findings, or arguments without appropriate acknowledgment.
- Paraphrasing too closely to the original source without proper citation.
- Submitting a manuscript that has already been published elsewhere.
- Reusing substantial portions of the author's previously published work without proper citation (self-plagiarism).
- Manipulating citations or references to conceal the original source.
Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for the originality of their submitted manuscripts. By submitting a manuscript to Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan, authors declare that the work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
If plagiarism or academic misconduct is discovered after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, withdraw the article, or publish a retraction in accordance with its publication ethics policy.
