About the Journal

Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan focuses on contemporary issues related to theological thought and pastoral ministry practices within the church, both in global and Indonesian contexts. The journal aims to produce high-quality theological scholarship that contributes to the development of theological thought and its practical application in the church, society, nation, and the wider world.

Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan welcomes submissions from academics, researchers, theologians, pastors, and ministry practitioners from various Christian denominations and traditions. The journal encourages constructive theological dialogue and the advancement of contextual Christian thought and ministry.

The journal covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

PEER REVIEW POLICY

All manuscripts submitted to Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan undergo a blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution to the fields of theology and pastoral ministry.

Manuscripts are evaluated based on their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, academic quality, originality, theological contribution, and significance for the church and society. Editors and reviewers provide constructive feedback to assist authors in improving their manuscripts.

REVIEW PROCESS

Each submitted manuscript undergoes the following stages:

  1. The editor conducts a technical and administrative assessment of the submitted manuscript.
  2. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are forwarded to the blind peer review process.
  3. Manuscripts that fail to meet the technical or administrative requirements may be returned to the author for revision or rejected.
  4. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and provide recommendations to the editor.
  5. The editor communicates the review results and recommendations to the author along with a revision deadline.
  6. Revised manuscripts may be re-evaluated by the editor and reviewers when necessary.
  7. Once accepted, the editor sends the final version to the author for approval before publication.
  8. Prior to publication, all accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and layout editing.

PLAGIARISM CHECK

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references and properly cited quotations. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the author for revision or rejected depending on the extent of the similarity detected.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan is published twice a year.

AUTHOR FEES

There are no submission fees, review fees, or publication fees. All stages of submission, review, and publication are provided free of charge.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

Matheo: Jurnal Teologi/Kependetaan provides immediate open access to all published content. All articles are freely available to readers worldwide without subscription fees or access charges.
