Abstrak

The desire to be rich and enjoy the facilities that exist in the world is the desire of many people. Everything is done for prosperity. Wealth is not something wrong, but if the goal and love of Christians are to get rich and earn money, that is what the Bible forbids. This study aims to reveal the congregation's understanding of prosperity theology. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through structured and unstructured interviews in the Bethel Church of Indonesia Victory Jakarta. The results of the study show that the understanding of the Bethel Victory Church Jakarta congregation towards material blessings as a gift that comes from God, and that is His will for the glory of God. Departing from the concept that blessing is a gift from God, the congregation takes an attitude of gratitude for whatever God has given them in their lives. The congregation believes that blessings are not always about money, health and success. As God's people, we must focus on the giver of blessings, not only on physical blessings.
