PENGAMPUNAN YANG BERTANGGUNG JAWAB: EFEKTIVITAS KONSELING PASTORAL BAGI PEMULIHAN RELASI PASANGAN KRISTEN PASCA PERSELINGKUHAN
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article develops a constructive pastoral-theological argument on forgiveness-based pastoral counseling for Christian couples after infidelity. It argues that forgiveness can support relational restoration only when it is framed as responsible forgiveness: voluntary, truth-oriented, trauma-informed, and accountability-based. The pastoral issue is not whether Christian faith values forgiveness, but how pastoral counseling prevents forgiveness from becoming a moral demand that silences betrayal trauma, bypasses justice, or returns the injured spouse to an unsafe relationship. Using an integrative literature study, thematic analysis, and pastoral theological reflection, this article engages studies on infidelity recovery, forgiveness therapy, trauma-informed care, practical theology. The discussion proposes the PPAK model: disclosure, responsible forgiveness, accountable repentance, and trust reconstruction within an ethical ecclesial ecology. The article contributes to pastoral counseling by distinguishing forgiveness from reconciliation, treating digital communication as a contemporary site of betrayal and repair, and offering practical criteria for churches and pastoral counselors to accompany couples without trivializing harm or absolutizing marital continuity.
