Abstract

This study examines the influence of Higher Criticism and postmodern thought on the perceptions of young Indonesian Christians regarding the doctrine of biblical inerrancy. The main issue identified is how postmodern relativism and pluralism create doubt about the authority of the Bible as the infallible Word of God. The purpose of this study is to reaffirm the relevance of the doctrine of biblical inerrancy in the face of intellectual and cultural challenges in the modern era. The research method employed is a qualitative literature review, involving analysis of theological works, academic articles, and apologetic sources. The results show that Higher Criticism has significantly altered the perspectives of young people toward the Bible, ultimately affecting their belief in inerrancy. However, this study also highlights the importance of a contextual apologetic approach to reinforce the belief of young Christians in the Bible as the authoritative and inerrant Word of God.
