STUDI KOMPARATIF ANTARA SOLA SCRIPTURA DENGAN PRIMA SCRIPTURA: IMPLIKASI BAGI HERMENEUTIK PENTAKOSTAL
Abstract
This study examines the differences and implications of Sola Scriptura and Prima Scriptura within the framework of Pentecostal hermeneutics, particularly in Indonesia. Sola Scriptura emphasizes that the Bible is the sole absolute authority in church doctrine and practice, creating theological stability but limiting the capacity for adaptation to social and cultural changes. In contrast, Prima Scriptura offers greater flexibility by accommodating tradition, spiritual experiences, and local culture as supplementary elements in theological interpretation. This approach allows the church to be more dynamic and relevant in facing the challenges of globalization and postmodernism while still upholding the Bible as the primary authority. Using a literature-based research method, this study finds that balancing biblical authority and openness to experience is crucial for maintaining the relevance and sustainability of Pentecostal theology in the contemporary era.
