Peer Reviewer Process
Edukasi: Journal of Christian Religious Education implements a peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of every manuscript published in the field of Christian Religious Education.
Each submitted manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team. At this stage, the editor checks the manuscript’s suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, completeness of formatting, adherence to author guidelines, originality, and basic academic writing quality.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to reviewers who have expertise relevant to the manuscript’s field of study. This journal uses a double-blind review system, meaning that both author and reviewer identities are kept confidential throughout the evaluation process to ensure objectivity and academic integrity.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following aspects:
- Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
- Originality and scholarly contribution
- Clarity of background, objectives, and research questions
- Appropriateness of research methodology or analytical approach
- Quality of analysis and discussion
- Relevance of findings to the development of Christian Religious Education
- Implications for schools, churches, families, and society
- Accuracy of theories, citations, and references
- Article structure, writing consistency, and language quality
Based on reviewers’ evaluations, editors may issue one of the following decisions:
- Accepted without revision
- Accepted with minor revisions
- Accepted with major revisions
- Returned for re-evaluation
- Rejected
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the comments, critiques, and suggestions from reviewers and editors within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts will be re-evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, may be sent back to reviewers for further assessment.
The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, considering reviewer recommendations, revision quality, compliance with journal standards, and the manuscript’s contribution to the development of Christian Religious Education scholarship.
