WORKSHOP PENERAPAN WORD SQUARE SEBAGAI MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INOVATIF BAGI SISWA SMPN 135 DUREN SAWIT
Abstrak
This Community Service program aims to enhance the effectiveness of Christian Religious Education at SMPN 135 Duren Sawit through the implementation of Word Square as an innovative learning medium. Word Square is utilized as a game-based learning strategy to help students understand theological concepts in a more interactive and engaging manner. This study employs Classroom Action Research (CAR), comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages to evaluate the effectiveness of this method. The results indicate that Word Square contributes to students’ improved comprehension, motivation, and active participation in Christian Education learning. Furthermore, this method supports the reinforcement of Christian character through group collaboration and exploration of biblical values. Challenges in implementation include teachers’ readiness to develop questions and technical constraints in online learning. To address these issues, recommended strategies include integrating Word Square into lesson plans, developing a digital question bank, and conducting continuous teacher training and evaluations. With proper implementation strategies, this method has the potential to become an innovative learning model applicable to various educational institutions, enhancing the quality of Christian Religious Education and shaping students' character in alignment with Christian faith.
