Abstrak

The Christ transforming culture approach by GBI New Life Kota Padangsidimpuan demonstrates its relevance in harmonizing Batak Angkola traditions with Christian teachings. Through contextualization training, the concept of dalihan na tolu is integrated to bridge faith and culture. The participatory-based training successfully enhanced the understanding and capacity of church leaders in utilizing cultural values as a means of ministry. The results indicate that congregants feel more connected to the Gospel message, and the local community is more accepting of the church's presence due to its respect for local traditions. Challenges related to resistance against certain cultural elements were overcome through dialogue and accompaniment. This transformation has positioned the church as an agent of spiritual and social change that aligns with the needs of the local community. This approach shows potential for replication in other communities.
