Peer Reviewer Process
All manuscripts submitted to Pneumata: Journal of Community Service will undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure that the manuscript fits the journal’s focus and scope, follows the author guidelines, and meets the basic standards of academic writing.
Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening will be sent to qualified peer reviewers. The journal applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. This process is intended to ensure objectivity, fairness, and academic integrity in manuscript evaluation.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:
- Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope;
- Originality and contribution of the community service activity;
- Clarity of objectives, methods, implementation, and results;
- Impact and benefits of the program for the community;
- Ethical responsibility in conducting community service activities;
- Quality of analysis, reflection, and discussion;
- Accuracy of citations and references;
- Overall structure, language quality, and academic presentation.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may make one of the following decisions:
- Accepted;
- Accepted with minor revisions;
- Accepted with major revisions;
- Resubmit for review;
- Rejected.
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers’ and editors’ comments within the specified timeframe. The revised manuscript will be re-evaluated by the editorial team and, when necessary, returned to the reviewers for further assessment.
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations, editorial considerations, and the journal’s publication standards.
