HERMENEUTIK HANS-GEORG GADAMER: RUANG BAGI GENERASI Z INDONESIA
Abstract
This study explores the application of Hans-Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic theory in the interpretation of the Bible by Generation Z in Indonesia. Generation Z, born between 1995-2010, is known for its open, innovative, and critical thinking characteristics. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, this study analyzes the biblical text's historical, cultural, and linguistic contexts through Gadamer's concept of "horizon fusion." Data were collected through literature studies and participant observations in Bible study groups. The results show that Generation Z can effectively apply Gadamer's hermeneutic principles, utilizing technology to access multiple perspectives and enrich their understanding. Awareness of prejudice and dialogical engagement enables them to achieve a more holistic and dynamic understanding. This study provides practical recommendations for Christian communities to support Generation Z in understanding and living the Bible profoundly and relevantly.
