ANALISIS METODE MENGAJAR GURU PENDIDIKAN AGAMA KRISTEN BAGI ANAK MASA PRA-REMAJA TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN FISIK DAN MENTAL

The pre-adolescent period is known as the teenage years and is usually referred to as the beginning of puberty. Many problems occur at this age, both in physical and mental development. One is that children are rebellious, challenging to manage, have no self-confidence, feel embarrassed about their appearance, get bored quickly, and so on. Of course, this is an obstacle for predominantly Christian religious education teachers in teaching students at this age. The purpose of writing this article is to analyze appropriate teaching methods to be applied by Christian Religious Education teachers for students at the pre-adolescent level. The method used is descriptive qualitative to provide an overview and answers to existing problems. The research results show that a teacher must teach by (i) conditioning the child's psychological needs, (ii) mentoring and disciplining children, (iii) providing a living example, and (iv) being a good motivator and listener for children.

The Maluku Protestant Church (GPM), which is part of the integration of the Indonesian nation, wants to develop education through formal church education, namely the Tunas Pekabaran Gospel Sunday School (SMTPI), which is expected to be able to shape Indonesian children into educated and valuable human beings for the nation and state. The Church's formal education aims to guide, nurture, and direct SMTPI children to know and love Jesus Christ as the Head of the Church. SMTPI, as a formal church education level in GPM, has adequate provisions and curriculum development. SMTPI is educated and taught by "Sunday School Teachers," whom GPM calls "Caregivers." SMTPI is grouped into educational levels, starting from groups of Kindergarten children, Young Children, Responsible Children, and Teenagers. The levels are arranged according to the child's age, and each level is organized into three sub-levels; each curricular level has its teaching curriculum reference, which is adjusted to the dominant, cognitive, effective, and psychomotor capacities according to the child's age. The research stages to be carried out are the research preparation stage, where a team meeting is held to make changes to the research proposal, and then the research implementation, which uses qualitative research methods with descriptive research type. This type aims to describe and explain all the phenomena contained in the problem under study, including the collection and compilation of data and interpretation and analysis of the meaning of the data. Children are helped to understand the Christian Faith and shape their behavior. Aspects of human resources in the congregation affect the creativity of caregivers. Some caregivers have an elementary high school education level, but some caregivers have a Diploma Two and Diploma Three education level. This educational factor can also affect caregivers' creativity in children's success.
